Encounter At Starbucks (Make Conversations)

Today i was at starbucks in Tulsa at the brookside area. As usual i order my tall black coffee and try to find a place where i can relax and read a book. After a few sips of coffee a man came to where i was sitting and i noticed he wanted to talk. So i took off my headphones and lowered my book to make a conversation with him. I asked him his name to start the conversation, then i moved to the next subject which is of course is the weather and how it was nice today. Let me remind you i never met this guy in my life. All of sudden, i felt in my heart to ask this man if he went to church. He replied, "yes i go to church down the street." The conversation only lasted for a couple of minutes because we ran out of words to say to each other. Finally he got up from his seat and told me to have a good day.
Reality Point-Take time to make conversations with new people in life.

Chasing Your Dreams!!

Over the course of the week in China, many dreams have been fulfilled, also many dreams have been crushed. One thing in common about these athletes in China is they're all chasing  dreams. How many today are not chasing their dreams?  Remember the movie 'Pretty Woman'? There is a man on the street at the end of the movie saying, "What's Your dream? This is Hollywood." No I don't believe we have to go to Hollywood to chase our dreams, although some do.
Have you ever said, "I wish I would have done this or that?"  For some reason the Olympics have inspired me to keep chasing my dreams and to start chasing after new ones.  Here are a few of my personal dreams:
1.) Orphanage Home: Where little kids and teens can dream
2.) Church Plant: To plant a church where a lost soul can find hope and freedom in Christ
3.) Play Football for Tulsa Talons: It may happen!!
4.) Beautiful Wife: Already accomplished!!! Thanks God

Reality Point: I believe inside every single human is a vision, purpose, or goal. I would rather chase my dreams and fail, then not chase my dreams at all.

wow! Dont Give Up

WOW! Go USA swim team! USA was behind the french team in the relay race until LEZAK gave it his all to pull ahead of the french team. LEZAK didnt give up even knowing he was behind the french team which is a powerhouse swim team.
Reality Point: Dont settle for second place in life because when you give it all you have, you can only come in 1st.

Depression!!! (wait i'm a Christian)

How many people deal with depression? I Do. Let me explain my heart today. I know for about 10 to 15 years I've dealt with a little depression, but not enough to take medication. Here within the last 5 or 6 years I would find myself just sitting in a dark room wanting to hide from the world. It only happens about once or twice a month. Does this sound weird? I know there are many people who have depression worst than me. Depression is not a sin. Depression can be caused by different issues. Even if you are Christian you will face some type of opposition or spiritual attack.

This past Wednesday I came home from a long day and took a nap. I noticed when I woke up it seemed my life was gloomy, dark, and depressing. The first thing I did was jump in my car and start to drive. During this time the Lord told me to start praying and play Christian music with songs of victory. (thanks Hillsong).  It took me almost 2 hours to realize I was in a spiritual battle with the devil.  Sometimes depression can be caused by health issues, but I know this was caused by a spiritual warfare.  After two hours of praying and playing Christian music I went home and told my wife what was going on in my life.
As Christians we will face opposition or spiritual attacks in life because we are not perfect.  As Christians we should expect to fight some battles in life.  Just because you are Christian doesn't mean the battles go away.
Reality Point: When you face battles in life, call or cry out to Jesus Christ for help.  It may take 2 minutes or 2 hours but know Christ is with you.

Fatherhood Is Great!

It's been almost 10 months since I've been a father. What can I say I've learned in the past months?
1. Mom does most of the work like changing diapers so give her money to go shopping.
2. Keep mom happy!
3.keep mom even happier
